James Hardie Industries plc (JHIplc) was created in Ireland in October 2012 after accepting by shareholders a recommendation to restructure the company by establishing a new one.
New company was established in order to bring higher income and to be promoted for better international growth than it was before. New company became the heading of the whole James Hardie group of companies and has operations worldwide.
The original company appeared in 1888, when young and talented James Hardie made up his mind to leave parents” business based in Scotland and move to Melbourne, Australia, looking for great possibilities. James started making money with the help of his experience – he began to import oils and other things.
Another important name in this story is Andrew Reid. He was born in Scotland on 24th of January in 1867. Working in Glasgow, he remained in contact with James Hardie. Andrew was so looking forward to chances in Australia, that he came there in 1892 and soon became a partner of James Hardie’s business. Andrew Reid and James Hardie created a great blend of talents, that helped them to build strong and successful business.
